75 Hour Laser Course

We have GREAT news for you! The most advanced esthetics skin care line is now bringing you the best in education! Dermodality is now offering a 75-hour advanced course for Nevada Estheticians – directed by our Medical Director, Dr. Matthew Dunham. 

As of 2022, the State Board of Nevada passed a law that states that any licensed esthetician that wants to become an Advanced Esthetician can now complete a 75-hour laser course until October 2023. After October 2023, estheticians will be required to complete either a 300-hour or 900-hour course.

This course is a 4 class series and we require students take the 4 classes consecutively. A new class series will begin each month and all classes will be held on Mondays and Tuesdays. You will be asked to choose one of the following 4 options at check out.

Online Program Goals 

This program is intended to provide Aesthetic Practice employees with an understanding of the major laser and light based, and other common aesthetic procedures that are offered to clients, and a working knowledge of the rationale behind these therapies and technologies so that you may speak knowledgeably about them to clients. This is general information, but you must know what is specific to your own practice and your available modalities, so learn what you have available to offer.

We’ll start with a foundation in basic skin anatomy and physiology and then build on this by looking at the various services offered and the unique technologies that are utilized.

Upon enrollment in the course, students will be given a unique login to this 43 hour course. You will complete online modules at your own pace.  Knowledge of course material is confirmed through testing. You will not be allowed to proceed until you have achieved acceptable test scores for each module.  

Dermodality instructors will have access to track progress and confirm when you have completed the online course.  Once the online course is completed, you will be issued a certificate from the Laser Training Institute.

HANDS-ON PORTION 

32 hours 
The hands-on portion of this course will occur over four 8-hour days at:

The in-person classes will be held on Sunday’s and Mondays. Each day will start at 8:30 AM and end at 5 PM, which includes a 30 minute lunch.  

Each student will observe and perform treatments and procedures on other students and models.  

Training will be accomplished using 2 Palomar Starlux 500 laser systems.  With these multi-platform systems, students will practice: 

  • laser hair removal
  • intense pulsed light
  • treatment of vascular lesions
  • skin resurfacing

*Protective eyewear will be provided for every student.  
Upon completion of the course, students will be given certificates from the Laser Training Institute, as well as from Dermodality Skin Solutions.

What type of certification will I acquire at the end of the 75 hours?

Upon completion of the course you’ll receive multiple different certifications!

  1. Certificate from the Laser Training Institute
  2. Certificates from Dermodality Skin Solutions Product and Peel Training 

Do these certifications transfer to other states?

 This course is specific to the state of NV.  After finishing this course, estheticians can qualify for an additional laser certification through  the National Council on Laser Certification (NCLC).  A NCLC certification is helpful as it signifies an additional level of knowledge that most estheticians do not possess.  This certification, however, does not replace state specific requirements to be “laser certified”.  Students will need to follow individual state’s requirements.

What happens if I miss an in-person class - are there makeup dates?

We will be happy to reschedule you for the same class at a later date. 

Will lunch be provided?

No, but students are welcome to bring their own lunch or there are a number of great restaurants near by!

Will students be able to do the online and in-person simultaneously? Or do they have to finish the online portion first before they begin the in-person?

It is preferable they complete the online portion prior to starting the hands on course.   We will allow them to start the hands on portion without completing the online course, however.
